 Meet your birth keeper

“You don’t have to birth like anyone else - you get to birth like you. I’m just here to remind you how powerful that really is”

  • Mijanou President-Aleman

    Childbirth Educator, Birth Coach
    Certified Advanced Doula

Mijanou has over a decade of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

Her work centers on education as a tool for empowerment—offering clear, evidence-based guidance while honoring the emotional, intuitive, and relational aspects of the childbearing experience. Since 2015, Mijanou has supported families through private education, group workshops, and community-based programming, with a focus on informed decision-making, nervous-system support, and building confidence in one’s body and instincts.

With a background in creative movement, music, and somatic support, and informed by both professional practice and lived experience as a parent, Mijanou brings a grounded, thoughtful presence to her work. She creates learning spaces that are structured yet spacious, inclusive, and designed to support a wide range of needs—from analytical thinkers to deeply intuitive families.

At the heart of her approach is a belief that when people feel informed, respected, and genuinely supported, they are better able to trust themselves and move through birth with clarity and agency.

Before You Choose a Doula…

Choosing a doula is deeply personal. I believe you deserve to feel confident and supported in that decision, so here are a few questions I encourage families to ask when interviewing doulas.

How do you support a client whose birth unfolds differently than planned?

What does advocacy look like to you in the birth space?

How do you work with partners and support people during labor?

What happens if you’re unavailable when labor begins?

How do you stay grounded and present during intense or long labors?

How do you integrate evidence-based care with intuitive support?

What kind of communication can I expect prenatally and during labor?
